5/13/2023 0 Comments True Honor by Dee HendersonI think Daniel's was a little unnecessary, but all the others were good. Some might find it annoying all the different POV's. I got so confused with Caroline, Amanda, and Marie. I think a few details could have been cleared up. I was expecting this huge dramatic ending, but it was just slow. But besides that, I think the relationships were sweet and fun to read. Like a guy meets a girl and then two days later he kisses her. I find that the author has relationships move really fast. No verses quoted (which I would have liked). Church is mentioned, but never any scenes when they attend. Good as usual.a few great intense conversations. I kinda guessed the suspect as the end neared, but I still think it was a really neat twist. As usual, Henderson makes you sit on the edge of your seat. MARSH!!! (just read the book before I give away everything!) But oh my.talk about emotions! I had to set it aside for awhile after that part and take a deep breath. I mean, I hated it, so why am I putting it her? But it moved the story along really well and I liked that. I didn't think about Marsh that much until. Before their POV's were introduced, I really liked Luke, but after that he didn't draw my attention as much as his officers. I can so understand how it feels being far away from a sister and my throat choked up on the reunion. I had a hard time putting it down after that. It is intense, draws your attention from the first page, and makes you keep reading. Those who loved her O'Malley series, will find this nearly equal in quality.

5/13/2023 0 Comments Book pie in the skyThe entire book is illustrated in two-page spreads, brightly colored, and artistically decorated in layered collage. In the beginning of the book, there are several 2/3 size pages that I believe are intended to represent the growing cherry tree sapling. After reading the book, I understood that the pie on the front cover looked exactly like the cherry pie baked in the story. The cover also contained six hole in the center of the pie that allowed the reader to see through the cover to the bright red first page of the book. The cover was brightly colored and decorated with what looked like two birds and a pie which were all contructed in a layered collage manner. The first thing that caught my eye was the unusual cover of the book. They eventually make a pie out of the cherries it produces. Pie in the Sky is a brightly colored, wonderfully illustrated story about a little boy and his father who watch their cherry tree grow and change. 5/13/2023 0 Comments One for the money evanovichSamuel also gets another person shot when a fugitive takes away his man purse with the gun while Samuel just stands there and allows it to happen. Things get even worse as Jane repeatedly shows up to humiliate him and then get away again. Rather than pull his gun on the boxer, he panics and hits her with his man purse. Samuel’s inexperience quickly gets him into more trouble after he gets assaulted by a female boxer who tries to rape him. He also allows his senile grandfather to get a hold of the gun because who doesn’t love it when the elderly start waving handguns around in a room full of family members? So Samuel gets a pistol he doesn’t know how to use or even load. He almost immediately stumbles across Jane who basically laughs at him and walks away. Even though he has absolutely no experience or training in law enforcement or as a bounty hunter, Samuel decides he’s going to capture her. Since she never called him again, Samuel felt justified in running her over with a car and breaking her leg shortly after that. There may be a personal revenge motive for Samuel in this because Jane is the girl who seduced him and took his virginity in high school. Desperate for cash, he blackmails his pervert cousin who runs a bail bonds agency into letting him go after a cop named Jane Morellie who was accused of murder and then skipped. So Samuel Plum is an underwear buyer for a retail store who has recently lost his job. It’s Gender Reversal Day here on Goodreads as I review One for the Money. She declares: "I wish to measure my life against the dimensions of the planet." Marian observes that her intentions are unachievable, but these may be the worthiest kind. It seeks to test how infinite space might be compacted into art, the complexities of a life compressed into a legacy. It wants to highlight the forgotten women of flight history. Like its heroines, Great Circle's ambitions have enormous scope. There is Amy Johnson, the first woman to fly solo from London to Australia Elinor Smith, who flew under four New York City bridges on a dare and Jacqueline Cochran, the speed queen who broke the sound barrier.Īmelia Earhart, the most famous aviatrix of all time, is a background presence, viewed with a tinge of resentment for being the only one posterity had room for. This is matched by a sweeping volume of research, glimpsed in detours into the science of navigation the story of a gender-fluid indigenous warrior dubbed Sitting-in-the-Water-Grizzly and the real-life women pilots whose stories speckle the landscape of Marian's. 5/13/2023 0 Comments The defiant by lesley livingston“You didn’t tell me.” There was a long pause. “Back at the ludus you didn’t even tell me you were hurt.” “You really don’t trust me, do you, Fallon? When are you going to believe in me enough to accept the fact that I believe in you?” “I thought we had agreed to treat each other as equals,” Cai said quietly. He shook his head sadly, and I was beginning to think I’d made a terrible mistake. I watched helplessly as the hurt in his gaze turned to disappointment. And telling you I don’t love you is the most flagrant lie that could ever pass my lips.” And I’d do it with a smile on my face and a song in my breaking heart.
